A major and sensational story is emerging from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Thousands of students have taken to the streets to protest against alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC competitive examinations. 

झारखंड की राजधानी रांची से एक बड़ी और सनसनीखेज खबर सामने आ रही है। JPSC और JSSC की प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं में कथित अनियमितताओं के विरोध में हजारों छात्र सड़कों पर उतर आए हैं।

Protesting students marching to lay siege to the Legislative Assembly breached the police's multi-layered security and barbed-wire barricades, making their way right up to the Assembly gates. A fierce clash subsequently broke out between the police and the students, and the situation became extremely tense.

विधानसभा का घेराव करने निकले प्रदर्शनकारी छात्रों ने पुलिस की बहुस्तरीय सुरक्षा और कंटीले तारों की बैरिकेडिंग तोड़ दिया और सीधे विधानसभा के गेट तक जा पहुंचे। इसके बाद पुलिस और छात्रों के बीच तीखी झड़प हुई और माहौल बेहद तनावपूर्ण हो गया।

Let's understand, in simple terms, what transpired on the streets of Ranchi today and the reason behind this entire protest. In fact, students have been protesting continuously for the past 17 days, alleging irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations. The agitating students' main demand is that these questionable examinations be canceled with immediate effect. Thousands of students began gathering near the Old Assembly at 10 a.m. today and proceeded to surround the Assembly. Keeping security in mind, the police had deployed a six-layer security system in the area. Barbed wire barricades were erected and CCTV cameras were installed to monitor the situation. However, the massive crowd of students defied all police accusations and broke through the barricades. To control the situation, the police had to resort to two or three lathi charges.

आइए आसान भाषा में समझते हैं कि रांची की सड़कों पर आज क्या-क्या हुआ और इस पूरे आंदोलन की वजह क्या थी। दरअसल, झारखंड लोक सेवा आयोग JPSC और झारखंड कर्मचारी चयन आयोग JSSC की परीक्षाओं में गड़बड़ी का आरोप लगाते हुए छात्र पिछले 17 दिनों से लगातार आंदोलन कर रहे हैं। आंदोलनकारी छात्रों की मुख्य मांग यह है कि इन संदिग्ध परीक्षाओं को तुरंत प्रभाव से रद्द किया जाए। आज सुबह 10 बजे से ही हजारों छात्र Old विधानसभा के पास जुटना शुरू हुए और वहां से विधानसभा घेराव के लिए निकले। सुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए पुलिस ने इलाके में छह layer की कड़ी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था की थी। कंटीले तारों की बैरिकेडिंग लगाई थी और CCTV कैमरों से पूरी निगरानी रखी जा रही थी। लेकिन छात्रों के भारी हुजूम ने पुलिस के सारे इल्जामों को धत्ता बताते हुए बैरिकेडिंग तोड़ दी। स्थिति पर काबू पाने के लिए पुलिस को दो से तीन बार लाठीचार्ज करना पड़ा और

Tear gas shells also had to be fired. Several students sustained head injuries during the lathi-charge. In retaliation, the students threw water bottles and slippers at the police. Some remarkable scenes unfolded during the protest; when the police deployed water cannons to push the crowd back, many students fearlessly climbed the barricades and began to dance, while others waved the Tricolour and sang the national anthem. Amidst this, a major administrative development also took place: the CID arrested L. Khangte, the former Chairman of the JPSC. It is worth noting that the CID had raided the JPSC office on July 21, immediately after which L. Khangte resigned from his post; the CID had been continuously interrogating him.

आंसू गैस के गोले भी दागने पड़े। इस लाठीचार्ज में कई छात्रों के सिर में चोटें आई। वहीं छात्रों ने भी विरोध में पुलिस पर पानी की बोतलें और चप्पलें फेंकी। प्रदर्शन के दौरान कुछ बेहद अनोखी तस्वीरें भी सामने आई। जब पुलिस ने छात्रों को पीछे धकेलने के लिए water cannon की बौछारें छोड़ी तो कई छात्र बिना डरे बैरिकेडिंग पर चढ़कर dance करने लगे। जबकि कुछ छात्रों ने तिरंगा लहराते हुए राष्ट्रगान गाना शुरू कर दिया। इसी बीच इस पूरे मामले में एक बहुत बड़ी प्रशासनिक कार्रवाई भी हुई। CID ने JPSC के पूर्व अध्यक्ष L खंग्गात्के को, खंग्गात्के को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। आपको बता दें कि 21 जुलाई को JPSC दफ्तर पर CID की raid पड़ी थी, जिसके तुरंत बाद L खंग्गात्के ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था। CID उनसे लगातार पूछताछ कर रही थी। 

They have now been formally arrested. The seriousness of this student movement can be gauged from the fact that six students, including Devendra Nath Mahato, have been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past 17 days. Despite deteriorating health, these students arrived directly from the ambulance to participate in the protest involving the gherao of the Legislative Assembly.
